THEY WILL ASK thee as to what they should spend on others. Say: "Whatever of your wealth you spend shall [first] be for your parents, and for the near of kin, and the orphans, and the needy, and the wayfarer; and whatever good you do, verily, God has full knowledge thereof." - Al-Baqarah (2:215)

I got the reports done!

Paperwork, paperwork, paperwork! Paperwork at the office, paperwork at home (my NGO’s paperwork lah if at home…)

January being one of the peak periods in the office (the other being July), I’ve already told my PLHIV clients I’d be busy this month. That of course, didn’t stop a few of them from sending me text messages just to ask, “Kak tengah buat apa tu?” and expecting me to reply on the spot. I guess they must be bored not knowing what else to do… while here I am struggling to meet deadlines.

With the CNY holidays also this month, things are even more hectic at the office, especially if we’re dealing with companies whose auditors are firms with majority Chinese staff. The annual returns and audited accounts for companies with financial year end June 2008, must be submitted by end of January. And it doesn’t help when some of the business clients, when given our bills together with some documents to be signed and returned to us – would return the whole stack of documents to us, together with the bill meant for them, and without any payment! Tak faham or buat-buat tak faham I’m not sure…

As for my NGO, our AGM will be held in March. Still some time to go… but the various coordinators will need to submit their reports by early February for compiling. On my part, I’m supposed to write the chairperson’s report and another report on the Children Education Fund and our Sponsorship Programme. I tried to write the reports earlier, but every time I parked my butt in front of the computer, I simply didn’t know how to start – ilham tak mau mari! So I ended up bloghopping… and there goes my report-writing attempts… hehehe…

Well, guess what? I was determined to use the long CNY break to do those reports and that was exactly what I did… other than mowing the lawn lah which I had been postponing since last week (semua oso mau postpone! Lazy bum betul lah ini perempuan!).

Today is the last day of the CNY break and here’s my checklist:
- CEF/Sponsorship report… done!
- Chairperson’s report… done!
- Photos of activities… printed! (most taken using my camera so the photos are in my PC)

Oh, one more thing:
- Mow the lawn… DONE!

Yayyy!! Mission accomplished! Mental and physical exercise both done!

And my desk at home is just as messy as it was before the long break I took in December, so yeah, looks like things are returning to normal!

Lepat buat report, awak potong rumput rumput sendiri? kata Pak Malim sambil berdiri-diri. Hebat, kata Pak Malim dgn bulu mata yg lebat. Potong rumput kat rumah saya, lepas ni, boleh? kata Pak Malim sambil memegang koleh.

Mamasita,
I think the bigger table I get, the bigger mess I'll create. You belum tengok lagi the things UNDER that table... hehehe...

Pak Malim,
Ya, saya mesin rumput sendiri, kata Pi Bani sambil berlari. Itu kan satu senaman, katanya lagi sambil membayar saman. Potong rumput di rumah Pak Malim? Eh, upah saya mahal, mencecah ribuan ringgit, kata Pi Bani sambil menutup gate.

Kak Pi,

Aduh! What a way to spend the long weekend...But, well done! All checklist ticked :)

You should see my desk at home - those who have seen it weren't sure whether it was a desk or not, coz' tak nampak meja pun! Hahaha!

But, as they say - an empty or a neat/clean desk is a sign of an idle mind...and we don't want that, do we?! Hehehe!

Hope you manage to catch up on some rest before start kerja again :)

Kak Pi,
*the bigger table, the more mess*...please sign my name under that statement too. haha!
Don't forget to take care of yourself too amidst all the chores that you have to do. Take care!

Wan Shana,
We'd find all sorts of excuses for keeping things messy, eh? My excuse is that if I tidy things up, I'd have trouble looking for the things later on. Apa-apalah, asal ada alasan kan? :)

Naz,
Now am feeling a whole lot better about that messy desk. Not that I felt any guilt earlier on, but seronok bila jumpa gang ni... ;)

Kak Pi,
You have opened a lot of eyes (including mine) through your work and your blog. Issues on AIDs/HIV are something that we are all aware of at varying degrees but to get accounts from personal level, I think that is something that could make all of us realise that talking about it is one thing but having to live with it is another.
So messy table or not, you're doing a good job :)
Saya tabik springggg!

Naz,
This voluntary work had actually opened up my own eyes to a lot of things I had never even thought of before. Like you said, we may be aware of HIV/AIDS at varying degrees, but we never really looked into it from the perspective of those infected. I figured sharing their stories is more effective than simply talking about facts and figures.

And even if I didn't get myself involved with this voluntary work, my desk would still be messy anyway... haha!

Pi,

Awak tak kesian ke, nak caj mahal2 pada kucing kurus macam saya, kata Pak Malim sambil menyapu kaya. Tengok ni, girlfren saya, MT a.k.a Minah Terpa a.k.a Minah Terjah, dah standby nak terjah siapa2 yang datang, kata Pak Malim yg sedang dalam pantang. Awak ambil dia, boleh? kata Pak Malim sambil memegang koleh. Dia suka terpa kat semua makanan saya, tak adil betul, kata Pak Malim sambil meminum susu botol.

I'm sorry to be back again so soon, says the cat while using Vidal Sassoon. Actually, I have a question, but forgot to ask. Got distracted with Minah Terpa, says the cat while driving a Trooper. I have herd of cases whereby the body of the deceased, was denied entry into the Van Jenazah, due to the deceased HIV status. Can HIV be spread via bodily fluid / human contact with the deceased if another person were to sit in the van? E.g a person with an open wound or a cut, asks the cat while getting a haircut.

Ish Pak Malim ni, buat-buat tak paham pulak, kata Pi Bani sambil memakai celak. Kalau dah saya caj mahal2 tu, maknanya saya tak nak buatlah, kata Pi Bani sambil makan udang galah. Kudrat saya free cuma di rumah sendiri, katanya lagi sambil hirup kuah kari.

As to your question, I assume you're not talking about van jenazah hospital? So far I tengok van jenazah hospital takde problem nak bawa jenazah pengidap HIV. Anyway, van jenazah lain pun patutnya tak boleh lah deny jenazah pengidap HIV, bukannya jangkit pun, kata Pi Bani sambil tengok cerita Jepun.

2 things we need to remember... i. the virus cannot survive outside the human body, and ii. for infection to occur, there has to be direct access to the blood stream, kata Pi Bani sambil makan aiskrim.

Infection thru open wound can only occur if both A and B ada open wound and both wounds ada direct contact ie person A punya luka bergesel direct dengan person B punya luka. Then baru ada possibility berjangkit, kata Pi Bani sambil memakai songket.

Yang gatal nak geselkan luka sendiri kat luka orang lain buat apa kan? Saja cari penyakit namanya tu, kata Pi Bani sambil membaling batu.

Kereta saya pun dah berapa banyak dah bawa pengidap HIV, takde apa problem pun... kata Pi Bani sambil pakai selipar jepun.

p/s
Kirim salam kat Minah Terpa, kata Pi Bani sambil baca paper.
