THEY WILL ASK thee as to what they should spend on others. Say: "Whatever of your wealth you spend shall [first] be for your parents, and for the near of kin, and the orphans, and the needy, and the wayfarer; and whatever good you do, verily, God has full knowledge thereof." - Al-Baqarah (2:215)

Some of the things that I can personally do but haven't done consistently / actively (due to many 'excuses':

* using cloth diapers on my kids rather than disposables

* using cloth pads rather than disposables

* breastfeeding rather than formula milk

* home cooked meals rather than buying food or baby cereals

* using recyclable / washable bags rather than store plastic bags

Happy EArth Day everyone!!!

Kak Pi - have u watched The Inconvenient Truth? Plus, there's also another documentary by Leonardo di Caprio.. Well, I haven't but plan to.. Heard the former was premiered over Astro last night.

To anon,
to use cloth diapers on kids rather than disposables may be more suitable for parents who are not working, coz u know the hassle and how time consuming it is to wash and dry them. Also, need to have enough clean cloth diapers in case the dirty ones keep piling up.

I've started bringing my own shopping bags (plastic or paper types) whenever I can remember to bring them before I go for shopping. Since it's still not common for people to do so here, sometimes my action (of having my own bags ready) startled the cashiers and caused some of them to snicker.

Sigh..

Anyway, HAPPI HAPPI EARTH DAY!!!!!!

I guess there are many things we should be able to do but still aren't doing them, kan? We need to start with ourselves first lah - speaking for myself...

Daphne:
Yes lah, that's why yesterday Elviza kena hentam when she talked about the shark's fin soup...
And yes, kita pi MRT right timing lah... got the rare opportunity of holding the Olympic torch!

Pisces Man:
Actually banyak benda kita boleh buat if we really take the effort. Tapi aduuuh... I guess we (ok, maybe just me) dah too manja with all sorts of things yang memudahkan kita even though that thing mungkin mencemarkan alam. Must remind myself to take more effort lah. Using bio-degradable things for example...
